When you think of sight-seeing, England doesn’t come into many peoples mind, especially residents of the UK. This is a real shame as there are some beautiful places in England, right on the door step for some people! One place that instantly comes to my mind is Southampton. Here’s why:

Southampton is great place for sight-seeing and the views that you are treated to will last in your mind for ages.

You are truly are spoilt for choice as there are countless trails in Southampton on offer. Below is an overview of a handful, to help you choose the best one for you.

Go! Rhinos

This wonderful trail takes you right through a public art event which is organised and hosted by Marwell Wildlife. Whilst on this walk you will be taken around large and small sculptures of rhinos, which are aptly placed on the streets of Southampton. Please bear in mind that this trail only runs from July 13th to September 22nd, so to avoid disappointment ensure that you get the dates right!

QE2 Mile

This is basically a pedestrian route that goes all through the heart of Southampton. Starting from the Cenotaph down right till the famous Town Quay waterfront – you get to see it all when walking through this amazing trail. The thing with the QE2 Mile is that it links together the new cultural quarter, old town, the various parks of the city, the shopping high street and finally – the waterfront. There are countless historical features that you would get to see through the trail, such as the Titanic memorial, the Cenotaph, the ever popular Bargate stands together with the Holy Rood church.

Southampton Old Town

This is the third longest trail that takes you on a stretch, which goes through the medieval town, which is said to be the most well-preserved in England. Give yourself an opportunity to take a step back in time and see all that went on in the famous Old Town of Southampton. The experience is going to be one that you will remember for quite some time for sure!

The Titanic Trail

The Titanic Trail happens to be one of the most famous trails to do in Southampton, which is a particular hit amongst Titanic fans. On the whole, when you get started with this trail, you would be able to check out some of the finest locations and memorials that are commonly linked with Titanic.
