Rome is a popular place for tourists from all over the world. One of the main attractions of the capital of Italy are numerous fountains. There are more than 200 of them in Rome. In any corner of the city, wherever you are, you will definitely hear the murmur of water.

In ancient times, fountains had a practical purpose – local residents collected water for household needs in them. The water from the fountains was drunk, so it underwent a special triple purification.

Every fountain in Rome has its own unique history, so for example, the Trevi Fountain has a belief that says that if you throw a coin into it, then you will definitely return to this city. De Trevi is one of the most beautiful fountains in the city, in the center of its composition is Poseidon – the God of the Seas.

The Fountain del Tritone is also a favorite place of tourists and residents of the city. In the center of the composition is a Newt, which stands on a seashell, located on the backs of four dolphins. In his hands, Triton holds a shell, from which a powerful string of water escapes.

The Fountain of the Four Rivers is one of the grandiose structures of Rome, it is a giant rock with a grotto, in which four depressions are made. Images of four rivers – Ganges, La Plata, Danube and Nile – are located around the rock.
