So it was 70 years ago: the Japanese walked along this road to Port Moresby.<\/p>\n
The troops of Australia and Papua New Guinea repelled the attack, but from July 1942 to January 1943 there were fierce battles. Today, the trail, stretching through the Owen Stanley Ridge and traditional villages, attracts travelers from all over the world.
