Switzerland

Due to the fact that Switzerland is one of the most expensive countries in Europe, it is often missed by many travelers. And very in vain. Switzerland is one of the most beautiful places on earth – its lakes, picturesque mountains, small medieval towns, soaring mountain peaks, beautiful churches, and endless meadows. Swiss cheese and Swiss chocolate, Swiss precision and attention to the smallest details. A country of amazing landscapes and the purest mountain air.

Any traveler, arriving in Switzerland, instantly falls in love with it. In this tiny country (the area of Switzerland is approximately 41 thousand square kilometers) there is everything to impress even a traveler who has seen the sights – high rocky mountains, stormy transparent rivers, alpine emerald meadows, shining waterfalls and azure lakes.

Charming Switzerland

The capital of Switzerland is Bern. Bern is an amazing and incredibly interesting city. The name of the city comes from the word bear. It is this animal that is the symbol of the city. The bear in Bern is held in high esteem by the locals. There is a beautiful old legend according to which one of the sons of the founder of the city promised to give the city a name in honor of the first animal he would defeat on the hunt. Hence the name. The legend also says that the city will prosper as long as bears live in it.

That is why, on the streets of the city you can find such a huge number of monuments to this formidable animal. The city itself is very cozy and bright. When you walk through its streets, it may seem that the pages of old fairy tales about the trident kingdoms, heard in distant childhood, have come to life. This feeling, in principle, arises from staying in Switzerland as a whole.

Despite the fact that Switzerland is very small, it is very densely populated. A huge number of villages and small towns are almost everywhere here. And each has its own characteristics and a unique, special atmosphere. In general, Switzerland has a very reverent attitude to traditions. The Swiss are very fond of holidays, and celebrate them brightly and interestingly. Ancient folk songs, fairy tales, beliefs and legends are passed down from generation to generation. A special pride for the Swiss is the national costume. In any Swiss village, they are proud of the distinctive features of their costume. Everyone, without exception, from the old to the small, with pleasure and pride put on national attire.

Any traveler will really like the “Spring Call Holiday” in Switzerland. It’s something like a Russian Carnival. Townspeople and villagers burn straw effigies, arrange festive processions. In general, they are doing everything to make the long-awaited spring come as soon as possible.

And, of course, speaking of Switzerland, it is impossible not to mention its ski resorts. Calm and prosperous Switzerland welcomes millions of tourists from all over the world every year. Numerous ski resorts are always happy to welcome travelers and are ready to surprise and give unforgettable impressions and a warm atmosphere.
