Where to go? Take a walk through the Valley of Flowers

Take a walk through the Valley of Flowers

To get to the valley by yourself, start a hike from the town of Joshimath in Uttarakhand (a trip to the Himalayas from Rishikesh is long and tedious), follow the pilgrimage trail to the sacred lake Hem Kund. 6 km before the lake, turn onto the path to the valley.

Valley of Flowers

In 1931, British climber Frank Smith wandered into the Bhindar Valley of the Himalayas and found hundreds of plant species lining the ground there. He called the valley simply – the Valley of Flowers.

Stretching 10 km long and 2 km wide in August, the trail turns into a real kaleidoscope.
