Where is the best place to relax in Croatia? What can I see? We tell you about the islands and interesting places to relax in winter and summer. Youth resorts and sanatoriums with treatment for vacationers of all ages.

Croatia is famous for its stunningly beautiful nature, well-groomed coasts with crystal clear water, as well as sights and national cuisine.

Holidays in Croatia are diverse. In summer it is good to sunbathe on the beaches, in winter – to ski in ski resorts. If you are young in body and soul, plunge into the nightlife, if you have grown out of it, plunge into therapeutic baths and healing springs.

Croatia’s beaches are clean and well maintained. More than a hundred of them have been awarded the UNESCO Blue Flag award — it is awarded to the cleanest, safest and with a high level of service beaches.

Beaches in Croatia are different:

  • pebble (resorts of Southern and Middle Dalmatia, History);
  • soft sandy (islands of Croatia);
  • concrete platforms (on the Istrian peninsula).

The best resorts in Croatia are Sibenik, Dubrovnik, Split, Istria peninsula, the islands of Hvar, Brac, Krk and Korcupa. On the islands, the beaches are usually sandy, pebbly or small-pebbled.

The islands of Croatia deserve special attention: there are more than a thousand of them on the territory of the country, and only 66 are inhabited. The most amazing is the island of Mljet, in the northwestern part of which there is Lake St. Mary with a small island in the middle. Really amazing – an island within an island.

If you prefer active recreation, then in summer you can rent a bike and see the sights of Croatia. There are many beautiful bike routes here. Trekking, diving and rafting are also available.

It’s a good idea to rent a car and see the sights of Croatia on your own. You can choose a car for rent on the Skyscanner Car Hire service — it’s safe and convenient.

Where is it better to relax in Croatia in winter? There is a ski resort Sleme not far from Zagreb. It can offer skiers four trails of varying difficulty with lighting at night. The Croatian national team trains in Belolasica, but don’t let it frighten those who have never skied before — there are trails even for children at the resort. The Platak ski resort is very popular — going down, you can admire the view of the Adriatic Sea.

Croatia is not only a beach holiday, although many people associate it primarily with it. There are a lot of interesting sights here: beautiful castles, ancient cities (Porec, Hum), ancient cathedrals and monasteries, Revelin Fortress, residences of the nobility, national parks of Krka and Northern Velebit, luxurious Plitvice lakes, Adriatic Islands and much more. This country is worth seeing firsthand.
